Akcela Hytran vs Nexplore

Went to CaseIH dealer for some fresh transmission oil for the 2294. They sold me two cans of Hytran Ultraction and a barrel of Nexplore, both 'Akcela' branded.
They told me the 'Nexplore' is the new Hytran, same oil, just a new name.
I'm not quite convinced. Is this the same oil? If not, can they be blended/mixed with each other?
I've read some horror stories about putting wrong oil in the RPS34 tranny with catastrophic results, some i'm very keen on putting the right stuff in the tranny.

The Hytran Ultraction is the oil to use in the 2294. The NEXPLORE oil is for NH tractors. Ultraction Hytran replaces Nexplore oil, but I would take the drum back and get Hytran. I think they wanted to unload a drum of Nexplore on you and said it was "compatible" to use.

Pouring Nexplore into a CASE tractor will bring bad results....don't do it.

The new tractors come from the factory with nexplore in them. At the dealership
here in northern Canada we drained the nexplore out and put in the hytran. In
the cold (-5 to -30) Celsius the nexplore was so stiff the hydraulic pumps on the
newer case tractors would suck air in around the orings on the plastic filter
housing. Oil was to thick. And the plastic filter housings were junk in the cold.

Wow Ken, i think you just saved him a lot of trouble. I was lucky i always had good honest, and smart parts guys to work with!

Wow, didn't expected that bad. Really was planning to pour it all in the 2294. I will return the Nexplore drum and get the right stuff. Thanks for pointing this out.

I don't know a thing about Nexplore but I can testify that using the wrong oil is a nightmare.

I had a local oil supplier swear their oil was the right oil for my 1370. 60 hours later I found out they were wrong.

Hytran = keeping your tractor in good running condition.

Other than Hytran = Not having a 2294 tractor or a lot of repair expense

Hytran ULtraction replaces Nexplore. Dealer dumped old stock on you that he was trying to unload, which would be fine if you had a newer tractor (MXM, MXU, etc) but don't put it in a 2294

Had the Nexplore traded for the real Hytran Ultraction. Now ready to change the oil.
I'm going to change the 2 hydraulic filters as well and clean out the suction screen. Anything else I should do or check while the oil is drained??
