Will an engine from a late model 990 fit in a early model 990?

How early are you talking? Later one had more Hp but yes should go right in if your changing complete engine.

The reason I asked is I have a 600 Oliver (bad engine) same as the early DB 990 and I have a late model 990 with a good engine thought I might use the engine out of that in the 600.

Thought that the 600 Oliver was the same as the David Brown 950? Not for certain. Might look at them side by side. Be interesting to really know if they would interchange.

From my research its definitely the same as the early 990.Think the Oliver 500 was the same as the 850 David Brown

990 is a couple more cubic inches, but if it will fit it is probably doable. Let us know.
