1030 runs out of diesel

I have a 1030 Case that runs for a few minutes and then run out of fuel, let it sit a while and it does the same thing. I blew air through the tank out the fuel filter assembly and change fuel filters, no luck. Any ideas, I wanting to sell this one and another and trying to get them running good. Thank you very much, Charlie

sukin in air somewhere ,,make sure the bleeder screw is not stript and or leaking ., chek the filter gaskets mite be doubled up,it happens on all makes , the old gasket is still in place and we stupidly put another gasket there to leak air/// .the replacement hand pump from cnh are leakie junk ,,. and too damhi ,,guess how i know, they gave me 3 that i rejected and got my money back . just plumb them out and instal a electric fuel pump,,. you will be headaches ahead,. imho .case shoulda put electric pumps on the big 30 and 70 series from the git go ,. Case Would have a better reputation today . ,, i am stil being kept for a fool by my 1070 with it gravity suction fuel system , one of these days , i willpull the tank and learn there is a pound of frogs and lilly pad debris in theres

well , true story ,. worse things have happened ,,. 50 yrs ago ,about 1965 , the 4 growing neighbor boys i grew up with were upset when their daddy traded their beautiful, but worn out 56 ford torqouis blue /white TRUE crown victoria , for a roomier 58 belair ,,. these boys were ford believers , and didnt warm up to the yuky pink /white , chevy,,. and this nemesis had such a ugly color in the interior, the youngest of the boys promptly threwup in it,,in all honesty he probably had the flu .BUT ,. the secret war was on , ford boys against the girlie colored chevy ,. wasnt long the once very dependable chevy was in constant need of fuel filters ,. got so bad their dady and uncle swapt the line leading from tank and on a whim blew it out ,. found scum and bonefragments and flesh parts and grass ???? WTH???? ,,. they then pulled the tank,. lots of stuff rattling around in there , mostly gravel rocks, grassclppins and of all things FROG Carcasses,.. i dunno if the 4 ever fessed up ,///,. but the oldest of the 4 declared the war was over ,,."if you guys dont knok it off now , we are gona be blamed and OUR azzs will be turned into hide! , " Daddy and uncle George figured the previous owner had a fued with someone and this is how the fella musta got even by puttin crud in the tank.?...Now I saw You Stinkers Do It and I didnt Care Then ,, But I do NOW !,,. YOU GUYS BEST KEEP IT SECRET Too!,,. Cause someone else is gettin blamed ,,.. Dad and Uncle George figure the poor guy that previously had the Belair got so tired of fightin the fuel problem he traded the 58 Belair off,,. no wonder Dad got aheck of a good deal when He traded the Ford in,. but Golly THey Was alot of cussin going on .so Shut the HALE UP ! ,. so thats how the frog story come about.

I have a "1030" that has 18,000 hours on her, she is still has same fuel system that it was built with, my guess is as olgent mention maybe the bleeder screws or gaskets. You did fill the 3rd ( final ) filter?

Is the first filter a screen filter on the suction side? If so, take it out and soak/brush it in a mix of acetone and denatured alcohol. It may look clean but be clogged with varnish.

if you have a 1969 model there is no 3rd filter just two spin on filters, if you have canister filters then the 3rd filter is above the injection pump, remove the hood to service I have seen the transfer pumps go out and cause the issues you are having,, most times like stated a restriction or air leak does the same also

There are 2 check valves in the hand primer pump.Take the hand primer assy.off the tractor, on the inlet end is a hex nut that ur fuel line fitting screws into, take it out and there will be a check valve a spacer and another check valve, keep track of how they go,then blow the junk out and assemble,it should work then. Some times you may need to put a filter between the fuel tank and the hand primer to filter out the big junk.

I took the primer pump off the tractor and blew it out real good, didn't take it apart though. Then I (call me stupid) figured out you had to screw down the primer and lock it. Ran for about 15 minutes and all seems well. Thank you all for your help, Charlie

Charlie, the transfer pump is located on the inside of the fuel pump between the pump and the block.
If you look up from under the tractor you will see two bolts that's the bolts that hold the transfer pump onto the injector pump. You will have to disconnect the fuel line that goes to it as well, your Diesel shop can get one or rebuild it for you.
If you have any questions e-mail me.
Hope this helps.
