Got several engine jobs coming up and thought a lift bar might help things a bit. The whole build is posted in tool talk if your interested, but here is what it is finnished. Also a short video of how 9t works.

Lol, sure can if you want. Only took a couple hours. Have to find another car jack tho.

Dad made one of those that I have right now. Works slick on engines. I also use it to remove and install axle housings on transmissions.

Jon, you are a master of engineering . Do not need to see Dr. at radiation any more. May is the next Dr. step.

Watch the source of threaded rod. Hardware store supplied or grade 2 will strip out very easily. Back when I was teaching, a kid made a sleeve puller with 3/4 rod. A torrington flat needle brg between the washers and it simply striped the rod. Grade 5 from a bolt supplier (like Fastenall today) and it worked great

We had one that I built that fit all the big block engines. I built it to clear the cowels on the 70 series and still keep the engine level. It slid on the valve cover studs and locked it down with the nuts. It bolted to either the front two heads or back two on 6cyl tractors depending on weather we were pulling an engine or splitting it. It even suspended the entire engine, sub frame and radiator in the big 4WDs.

When I had my shop I was well supplied with bent jacks to get the screws from. Don't get many of them anymore.
