870 Case mechanical fuel pump??

Hello all. I'm working on my inherited 1971 870 case diesel my grandpa bought new. It doesn't get used much. It's too small for most things and too big for everything else. But, I like to keep it running to honor my grandfathers memory.

I believe the mechanical fuel pump has failed. I have fuel gravity fed from the tank to it. But no fuel exiting it. The sediment bowl has been cleaned. I sure would like to find a new one and gasket to just change it. I've searched high and low. I can't find one.

Does anyone know a source for one? Thanks for reading and any help you can provide.

The one I got right from Case a couple years ago cost $5.00. Price almost knocked me off the stool at the parts counter!

Do you need the whole lift pump, or just the priming pump itself?

When you take the sediment bold off, do you get fuel? Should be a solid 1/4" stream. I have had a Japaneese beetle get stuck in the inlet before the sediment bowl. Compressed air removed him.

The last lift pump I needed came from my local injector shop place, rebuilt cost about $100 including his core.

The priming pumps themselves are pretty cheap.

Update: took the mechanical pump apart. Piston was stuck in the bore. Cleaned everything all up and reassembled. The tractor runs like a top again. I think it had years of buildup in it. It was a mess
