4690 rear steer

Have you checked the inline fuse. I think you have to pull the cover off the side console.
If you have power there you best get connected (with a volt meter) to the control box input and outputs.
Also check at the force motor on the rear steer valve could have a broken wire or loss of supply voltage. HTH Tom

Did all the voltage and ohms checks. Could not get good readings from rear sensor, replaced it. Still nothing.
Doesn't seem to be talking to rear steer control.

I was under the assumption you did not. I have one and do have some grief with my 4490.
If my thought process is correct the control would move the rear wheels without the rear potentiometer. The rear pot just tells the control where the rear wheels are in relationship to the front. Tom

Clean connections are very critical. Having said that, we had a similar problem, Rear Sensor tested bad so we replaced it. Still no better, turned out to be a bad harness from the console to the rear sensor.

We tried a different harness to check that. We found a place that will check the control box and repair anything wrong in it for $140. Is this a good next step? Any other ideas?

Go to a dealer and rent/beg/borrow/steal a Case 4WD diagnostic box. Sounds like you have a factory manual?

I'm referring to CAS 1638A-1 Steering diagnostic box, takes all the guesswork out. Where you located? john
