Case Model L thoughts/help

Lookin at a 38 Case L factory electic start.... my question how rare is this option? I have a 37 with no provision for a starter and ive seen later tractors with the bell housing made to take it but it appears to be cast shut? Any records on how many left the factory with starters?

The only way to know for sure how many L's
were equipped with a starter would be to
sort through the factory build cards and
count them. Dad and I have four 1938 L's.
Two had starters from the factory and the
other two did not so I would estimate that
probably less then half had originally had
starters. For those that didn't have a
starter and had the new style bell housing
you just had to remove a tin plug from the
starter hole. I don't think they are all
that rare, but that is just my opinion.

Our 37 does not have a started not the hole in the black. And on that subject we have a 37 L with a cracked block and are currently looking for a block or a cheap parts tractor. Got any leads or help you can
offer???
