Hello all,
Just thought I would share a quick post.. I've been working on fixing the leaky tank on my SC. Have welded it, ground smooth, soldered, filed smooth, and put on body filler.. All I need to do is finish the paint and it will be ready to go back on the SC (and test out the 12 volt conversion I just did also). A friend of mine works at 3M and I mentioned I was looking for some tank padding to put on the gas tank support to keep it from having metal to metal contact (I used foam tape, but it doesn't do a very good job. He dropped off this roll of rubber pad with adhesive backing on one side. I would guess it is about 1/32" thick, 12" wide, and about 5' in length... I think it will work well (looks like it was supposed to be there)! Probably would work well between the hood and grille as well as the hood and tank.
