agreed ,tom,. white tin would make it about that year ,,. looks to be the 188 diesel and drive train all the way back to the 3 pt hitch ,, including dual steering cylindars,, one could wonder if this was a prototype that once was painted desert sunset, and not built or marketed for what ever reasons to match the the new bigger 70 series,. perhaps when Db was purchased and the white tin was adopted , it could be they painted this prototype white ,, just to test its curb appeal over david brown ,, obviously I am guessing here ,,. but yet no one really knows ,,. at least they have not come forward and wrote about the decision process here /// .most interesting would had been sittig on the case board of directors when this prototype was built ,,. guarding the company financial health at that time ,, and also finding the opportunity to buy david brown , and how that market share could be absorbed , and then how those tractors could be part of the line up,. I grew up on 430s, and was well versed with them ,summer of 72 , I helpt a strawberry farmer beyond simply pikin berries, I got to bale straw with a like new david brown and a massey baler,. I just did not like that tractor compared to pops 430 .. I t was a hot ride, the seating and pedals were poor alignment and the transmission was difficult to shift .. SINCE I am a HARD headed CASE Man ,,. I do RECALL feeling that Case really gooft when they dropt the 188 diesel over the david brown design ,,. and for a time as a young man, I wrote off case entirely in disgust and paid closer attention to the other rainbow of colors including the green an yaler ones,,. but once case gets in your blood,, yougot to come back home ,..
