An interesting thought on my 1030

I've decided to use the parts of both my 1030's to make one nice one and then sell what's left. What I will have is the engine and all the sheet metal from the first one which is a late 68 model, and the trany/rear end and tires from the 67 model.

So my question is, which serial number goes with it? It just got me to thinking while I was driving today and was wondering if there was a propper procedure for this. I don't really care one way or the other, but sometimes things pass through my head. Lol

Another question, since I have both the set back front axle and a regular front axle, which do you think I should use?

The ring and pinion are excellent, as are the bull pinions and bull gears. Can't really see the rest of the differential. What parts are you looking for?

Seems to me type of front axle and style of the tractor would be my guide. Wide front, western , Hi Crop, and so on . These features are indicated in the serial number, are they not? So pick the serial plate that would come the closest . Who but you will know?

My email is open, here is a picof the rear which is the common place for dents. Otherwise they are nice.

There are two tags on each tractor, one for the chassis and one for the engine. The chassis tag is the one used to find your build card and would be considered the serial number for the complete tractor. I once looked at a tractor advertised as a 1030. Yes, the engine tag was a 451 and had a 1030 decal on the hood but the serial number plate on the chassis was stamped 931, so it was actually a 930 and somebody swapped the motor and hood at one time. I wouldn't have known had he not kept the correct plate with each half. To me that's more important than matching the tag to the axle configuration or fender style. My 2 cents.

My neighbor has a 1030 with a crack on bottom of the transmission housing he tried silicone but it still leaks he wants to sell it I was going to try and weld it but kinda tough upsidedown thought about picking the front end up stand the tractor up on its back end but if I could buy another rearend swap them out wouldn't be so bad.

Do you have a clutch?

I have 2, but both would need rebuilding. I can do it, but will need tobe paid to do it.

I have a set of western fenders I'd part with. I had to sacrifice this 930 a couple years ago to save another one. They are very nice. I'd gladly send more pictures and of better quality than the one I posted. E-mail is good.
