Got a DC with 4 1/4" 830 gas sleeves and GMC 305 V6 pistons will tops milled off to leave .035 above the top of the block with 5505 head. Need more power! Is there another piston I could use? With domes with 5505 head or big dome and use 4576 head?

Interesting; So how many lbs of compression with the way it was set up. We had a pickup with that 305 engine. But the neighbor's had a bought a new GMC 2 1/2 or maybe even a 3 ton, single axel with the bigger 401 engine, they used it,to pull a cattle trailer with it.

Jim, what HP are you at presently? I have done a few 4 5/8 domed with the 5576 head but they were custom pistons and used with custom rods, stock stroke will put you over 100 hp at 1400 RPM.

Was trying no upload a pic of a block with the line bore setup attached and ready to finish sizing mains but cannot get the photo to my email to transfer it.

uhhhhhh what maching is required to get 830 gas sleeves to fit a d series block? or maching to the block?? and what mods to the 305 pistons or wrist pins??

My dad had the machine work done. He is gone now. I
remember the upper and lower bore was cut and different
sleeve o rings used. Lower part of sleeves cut also305 wrist
pins were only slightly larger than DCs. I think he had to
machine a little off of the top pistons
