Getting ready to split my 1210db, never done one, confused about how clutch and pto linkage get released when separating. Any help would be appreciated. Dennis

You have to slide it apart about 2", then take out the 3/8" bolt that clamps the throwout fork onto the shaft through the gap, pull the woodruff keys out of the shaft, then slide the shaft out.

same fork for trans and pto? I'll understand more once I can see what's in there. Also can I pull the upper bell housing before I split? Looks like wedge along back which might allow for tilt and removal. Would like to split tomorrow. Thanks for help.

The upper half of the bell stays in place, attached to the back half when I do one. It helps with alignment, and won't come out until it is an inch apart anyway, even with the wedge out. Fuel tank can stay in place.

It will make sense once you look it over.

rain day, to dark to work(no electric in shed) Are you familiar with the db? Wondering why so little info on 1210s. Found a lot on smaller db. Found cribbing and plate for jack to roll on, of course they're predicting snow for wkend. Thanks for help.

I know a little. There has been a DB on the family farms since gray market ones started to come into the country in the early 60s. My First tractor was a 1210 that dad bought for me when I was 10. My first self done clutch was on that 1210. I have a whole mess of DBs around the place now, along with a few Cases.

Id say your familiar, got it jacked and blocked. I loosened the back bolts on bell housing and used it as a pry point to get it started apart then used flat bar and it now is around a inch apart. The bolt u mention, goes through fork and shaft? Then slide clutch shaft out left side tractor? Ran out of daylite, can still get apart by weekend. I'll keep you posted if you like.

That's the one.

The only other tricky bit besides that bolt is the spring that hooks down through the hole in the bottom of the clutch housing.

i unhooked two springs at bottom of housing, one each side, hooked to cross shaft of pto fork. Is there another one?
