Something you don't see every day

The Alternator Belt on My DC has an adjustable V Belt. It's not something you see every day. I can understand why the previous owner installed it because of the laborious effort needed to replace a standard one. Question do any of you guys use this style? It seems to have merit.

Have had a tractor or 2 with them, I guess they can be made to fit and not have to pull the radiator off!! I have made a few trips to town for the correct belt when going with an alternator. Nick

I have a similar belt on my JD D. The belt runs the generator off of the fan shaft in front of the governor and the only way to get the belt off/on is for it to be detachable.

I remember Dad using link belt for the generator belt on the DC when I was a kid. When we cleaned up the old 50 DC I found link belt for the generator belt to remind me of Dad's and the old days.

I put two of them on the head-stock of my lathe I have in the garage. Made out of Kevlar, don't have to take the lathe apart to put belts on and should last forever. Allan
