Case 430 Differential

I'm working on a Case 430 standard Tripl-Range with diff lock. My question is, should the cross shaft (A35918) in the differential be a tight fit? This one is loose on
the splines, can't really see or feel any wear on the shaft or in the casting. The reason I ask is that the service manual says the shaft for tractors without a diff lock is pressed in to the ring gear
assembly but, I can't find where is says anything about the shaft used with the diff lock. Before removing the differential, the ring gear assembly had quite a bit of
side-to-side movement on the shaft. Any help or options is greatly appreciated.
Also, this tractor has a drain tube on the bottom of the rockshaft housing but no hose and there are no holes in the transmission case to run a hose. I assume the hose
should run up to the torque tube to drain there. Could this be a newer rockshaft housing on an older tractor? If so, can holes be bored in the case to run the hose
forward, assuming that's where it goes?
