Case 310 utility 1956 rear end

My case 310 has recently been making a high pitched screeching sound from the right rear wheel housing. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this. It is not rubbing on the fender and comes and goes.

It might be the axle outboard bearing. Pump some heavy grease in there see if it dampens the noise. Not going to fix it but at least you'll know the area the noise is emanating from.

Yep, poured grease into the zerk and now it only emits an occasional squeal. Will keep it greased until I can open it up and see how the bearings are holding up. Thanks for the response Joe! DZ
