The old bat tray was in pretty rough shape. Removed it and salvaged the slides from it and fabed up a new tray/box for the Group 31 bat that I am now using. I maintained the slide out feature and had to make a new latch for the rear slide. The new bat is higher than the old pair of 6V bats were., so clearance under the fuel tank is minimal, but I hope to make a cover that will slide in and clamp the bat down. got to work on that, so it doesn't short the bat out, and bind the throttle linkage up. Bat terminals do have plastic covers on them.
Weather here is really warm, so I decided to pressure wash the 440 and get it out of the shop, and make room to get my newly fabed wood hauler back in and repack the bearings in the hubs and get it ready for spring wood cutting.
I even spent a couple of days cleaning the shop. Was able to open up the overhead doors, sweep it clean, and recovered my tools that were strung all over.
