Case IH 7120 things to watch for?

Looking at a 1991 Case IH 7120 with a little under 6000 hours on it. It seems extremely well kept. 2 questions:
Are there problems to look for that can be seen visually or picked up in a test drive?

Actually went looking for a bigger horse, but this one is so much nicer than anything else we've seen - how safe is it to turn the pump up on this closer to 200hp? Heaviest work would be to haul manure spreader - no tillage.

Thanks!

If the tractor has been maintained 6000 hours is just getting broken in. 15000 hours is common in my area with no major issues. The 7120 should be able to handle the additional horsepower. The 7120, 7130, 7140 and 7150 have the same drive train. The 7110 is the same drive train except it has a smaller differential. I had a customer crank his 7110 up to 195 horsepower. He had duals on it with water in all four rear wheels. Third season he broke the cross in the differential.

Overall those magnums have a good reputation. When shifting, there is a bit of a clunk at the range changes between 6-7 and 12-13. Accumulators need to be charged, not a big deal. Make sure crud doesn't build up at the inching pedal cable on the cab firewall. If that cable sticks, it can cause slipping clutch packs. Fuel gage can act up but is usually crud build up at the sender due to dust build up at the back glass/panel area.

The torque limiter went on my 7140, it was sending a vibration at idle for several days before it failed.

If it starts good and shifting is crisp, it's like checking any other 25+ year old tractor. Good luck
