O.K. it really a VC { I think ] it's my tug ... Getting it ready to paint { weather here has been in the 70's the past few days and say it will be till Wed. } so with weather like this in Feb. I'm trying to paint enough to get the front end under it again { it's a start }
Anyway while cleaning it up I was looking at the Shifting pattern .. it's different than my VAC14 ..

So my Question : is did they use a different transmission on the different VAC series ?? , I have a VAI and the pattern on it is the same as the tug .. I know the VAI has a FAST ROAD speed .. so will the tug have a Fast Road speed ???
The shift pattern is R,1,3 on top and 2,4 bottom ... my VAC14 pattern is R,1,2 top and 3,4 bottom ..

Any Advice on this will be Appreciate ...... mark

I remember it being discussed at some point that the industrial VA series transmissions had the faster 4th gear and that 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 were across from each other for faster shifting in the warehouse or other industrial environment (better loader tractor gear setting?)

Mark you have a "VAIW" and the shift pattern is different on a VAI/VAIW tractor than it is on a VA/VAC tractor, they made them like a truck to shift on the industrials

If this is a VAIW warehouse tractor it'll have a 14 mph high gear. As stated the shift pattern is different for faster shifting. ( this is what I was told when I got mine). You will noticed there is not much difference between 2nd and 3rd gear. Hang on in high because it's fast for a narrow tractor and then it turns on a dime!
