Case / David Brown 885 Fuel Pump

I have recently lost the prime on my fuel system and can't start my tractor. I believe that I've found the problem but I would like some opinions. There is a stripped-out part that i need to fix. The repair involves drilling out my fuel pump housing and doing a thread-repair, so I'm wanting to make sure that I'm not making the problem worse.

I've attached a drawing that more completely explains the issue.

Seldom see that stud pull out of the housing. Might be easier to replace the housing with a good used one. Best to have it apart if a heli-coil is done so no chips get inside the pump.

The housing isn't thick enough to accept a heli coil.
You have to get a housing..
I don't have any on hand.. Dtech or Al Baker may..

Real sorry sir should have check before I wrote you because after went to check the one I have left is not the same as it is not fvrom DB 885 but off and IH 885

Thanks, I was wondering if there was something internal that the thickness of a helicoil would interfere with. I'll be on the lookout for a new housing.

Maybe I could modify an actual solid thread insert to be closer to the wall thickness of the pump housing, then red loc-tite it in?

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I decided that it's probably over my head mechanically to disassemble the injection pump, and I wasn't ready to put $1.000+ int a rebuilt one.
I ended up cleaning out the old stripped threads, then tested the stud in the worn out hole. It was really loose, but seemed to grip right as it bottomed out.
I then cleaned it real well with spray carb cleaner, dried, then installed the stud with red loctite. After letting it cure in front of an electric heater overnight, I re-installed the pump and, so far, it's still holding.

I will save the contact info in case I have to look for a new housing later.

Thanks again!
