I know that the 3 7/8" pistons will come out of the hand holes, BTDT. Will the 4 1/16" ones come out of the hand hole.
I took a 3 7/8 " piston & rod out 50 some yrs ago, remember that it was a hassell , but better than lowering the pan. Hope someone can help me out here. Thanks in advance. clint

Do you need to change the piston, or just the rod? The wrist pin can be removed without removing the piston.

Long story, but here goes. A certain CC had some hard to find, hi. comp. pistons in it at one time. Now , many yrs. latter it was found out that this CC has had them pulled out and some low comp. pistons put back in. By looking everything over very close , we think the head has not been removed. We have studied this more than once to come to this concluson.
Also, some of the rods and caps are all mixed up too. My thought on this is that some one did this to get those "scarce " hi. compreson pistons , thinking that no one would ever find this out. clint
