1946 Case VAI Rear Axle Leak

CaseVAC-14

Hey Guys,
I have been restoring a 1946 VAI and have been having some trouble stopping a rear axle leak. I replaced both rear axles and the right side is completely dry and fine and the left continues to leak. I read in one of the forums that someone had doubled up the seals due to the old rawhide seals causing rust pitting on the axle so i tried that and thought I had solved the problem, but it has again began seeping around the axle. I'm open to any and all thoughts on this as my dad VAC has also began leaking and I will soon have to tackle that problem as well. Thanks in advance.

They felt good. I didnt pull axles out or anything but I didnt notice any movement in them. Just cant seem to get it to seal on the axle. I also read in on post about putting Lucas Hub Sealer in to stop small seeps.

I never tried the hub sealer but I have a case Sc that I cut a felt washer out of a saddle blanket. Made it to fit real tight on the axle and around the housing that has held up very nicely for me.
