Finding inlet/outlet for hyd fluid on VAC

Im getting round to fixing/running a VAC with 3pt. I want to use it on a post hole digger. I need to know where the fill and empty plugs are. Thanks.

The fill plug sits on top and looks like a big nut wit ha pipe plug in the center of it. Pull nut part off and the pipe plug is the dip stick so you know when it is full. As for the drain I have never found one on them. This by the way is to hyd pump with the belt pulley not the direct engine driven pump that sit just back from the radiator

Is your hydraulic pump driven by the belt pulley gear or mounted on the right front of the engine?

Depending on the year model you may or may not have the cover but the location is the same just in front of the clutch pedal. The drain is at the back bottom edge of the torque tube. There is not a dip stick. Full is to the bottom of the fill hole. Lee

If you have the cover under the fill plug as shown in Lee's first pic it is for the return hydraulic oil filter.
The original factory filter element is cleanable. Torque tube nominal capacity is 2 gals.

Have you been able to get one of the old filters out. I have yet to find one that has not swelled to the point that it would not come through the opening. I guess sitting in oil for 65 years does have some drawbacks. Lee

Yeah that is a frequent problem along with some elements having a hole blown in the side due to excessive differential pressure caused by plugged element and/or excessive back pressure. The element may be still available from Case dealer. Original p/n VT3139 changed to p/n A30411.

The filter used in 300's and some other number series including some COM systems p/n G13113 is the same element but about 1-1/2" longer. I cut a spare for my 310 off to fit my VAC and "safe ended" the cut off end with glue. Worked ok, stood up for the 12 years I had the VAC.
