Okay stop me if you have been down this happy road before. You tend to make good life decisions, spend money wisely and save for the future, pay your taxes are a thoughtful about deciding on the value of things....
......Then you just have too much enjoyment is finding and saving old tractors that some folks would never even consider keeping from the scrap yard. They mean something to you and remind you of times gone by. They all are special in their own way, some because it was a family workhorse or your first ride, some because you were wanting one forever and did not know what you would even do with it but no matter... it is important to connect with the past through the love of the old iron.....
You spend weeks, months, even YEARS giving special attention to "THE TRACTOR" and plenty of money doing it right, the way you want to do it, and get a great feeling each time you see it, use it, parade it or park it. You just smile when the unknowing wonder why you invest way more than you could ever get back for your efforts..and likewise you sometimes you wonder too but you know you will do it again when that special tractor comes along in spite of the "bad investment". Too much fun to not do it.
I am getting ready to do one of the hardest things for one of us to do.. part with one of my tractors, and it makes you reflect on how happy it has made you and how once again you KNOW you will start all over again vowing to be more careful. But what the heck... the tractor HAD to have new tires all the way around and it just is the right thing to do. If it was about the money I sure started out wrong. Cant wait to do it again. My beloved handy little 310 Roundnose utility loader tractor is gonna make way for and old 60's 580CK TLB project. Here we go again. Can't wait but sort of sad like we always are when one is going to leave. Just thinking..
