That is no 1939 tractor. It is a DC built after 1941 as it as rear axles made after tractor 4511449 and is probably a 1949 or later since it has hydraulics. I would say someone has put a standard D axle under the front end.
 
I would say it is a DC-4. I would be very concerned about him using the top of the PTO housing to secure the Top Link. Not heavy enough up there & usually results in a busted housing. As for his price, he's out of his mind. Watch out for them New Yorkers.
 
+1 about new yorkers...............What year did they come out with eagle hitch? Where or what was the top link supposed to bolt to? Paint is not worn on the scoop so probably never used? How much is a good used loader for the D? Seams that would be far better than a cobbled dirt dozer blade! Maybe the buyer will find YT for all the help he will need..................chuck.
 
Hey Chuck: You didn't have to agree so wholeheartily about New Yorkers!! 1952 was the 1st year for Eagle Hitch on the SC & DC, although I have heard of some late 51's with it. I think '49 it was 1st introduced on the VAC. There was a short article in the last "Old Abe News" that CASE actually bought the right to the Eagle Hitch, name & all, from another company.
The Top Link attached to a bracket that actually bolted over the PTO & rendered the PTO useless w/ the Eagle Hitch. But, much more sturdy than hooking up there on top. It is ok for light mounting such as a mounted mower, where you'd need the PTO.
 
I have a 1951 DC-3 here factory LP Eagle Hitch and dual remotes,, But No Live Power there was a month or two of production before the Live Power parts were available, I can post you some pics if you like of it

no pics necessary. Just load it up and bring it on down. Been looking for a eagle hitch tractor or the complete rear end for several years. Cali does not seem to have many case tractors in the letter series................chuck.
