On both sides the front king pins are loose, I will replace them and the axle and plant. seals for good measure. The rear steer valve needs going through and have some bushings to install in the rearend pivot that goes clunk when shifting the PS. Our meager snow will be melting in a few days leaving this a good time to service the 24 while waiting for a few parts to finish a 770. Rod.

Hi Rod,
Since the 24 is in the shop for surgery, will the ol girl be ready for field work duty? Glad to see you taking care of the ol girl. They are great tractors to operate. Best of luck sir. Keep us updated as surgery continues please. LOL

Kurt if all goes well I will find a job other than blowing snow for it to do. Hopefully it will involve working dirt, LOL. Rod.

Rod, that is one nice "2470" and sure will be a welcome member of the "Case Team" on your farm. I always enjoy your updates.

Rod,

Do you work alone? I always think of how easy it can be to get hurt around the BIG heavy stuff. I can imagine that you are quite safety conscious since you have been doing this work for a long time. I'm an acquaintance of someone you used to work with at a Case dealership.

Rod, please keep posting your progress with this repair. I have a 2470 with bad front hub seal, loose UJ and general wear. I can't get motivated to fix it, so will probably keep putting oil in and reading your posts :)
