1370 lack of power

My auction buy early 1370 seems down on power from what I expected. New air and fuel filters. Lots of fuel flow.

Making a fair amount of smoke pulling a chisel in 3-1. Makes lots of smoke If I try to go to 3-2 or 2-3.

It gets warmer than I would expect after 5 acres or so. New coolant and nice clean cooling system.

The turbo whistles some, but doesn't sound super impressive.

Time for a new Turbo?

Maybe just put a gauge on it and make sure? Home many PSI should it have under load?

RG if it is a early 13 it just has a air intake pipe behind the muffler, right? Later ones had the air induction which worked great but were prone to plugging and
therefore restricting intake air. Air filter condition is very important as the little safety filter is small and the 504 likes lots of air. Nozzle condition and
pop off pressures are important as is pump timing. Most 13's do have a noticeable smoke trail when pulling a good load. Both mine do, one more so than the other ,
but power is plentiful on both. Rod.

Simple intake behind the muffler. New Wix primary and secondary air filter.

It feels and pulls like a 1070.

Smoke is considerable at what I would consider a 1070 level load(3-1), going to 3-2 it is like I'm running a steamer powered by coal.

I'll check the static timing.

This is one of those "when I get around to it" projects, but spring is coming, I have it, I might as well use her.

if it shows its in time,, I would check the crank dampner it have have slipped giving incorrect timing, I did see a 1470 do this about 1973,, that one had a frost plug in the end of the air intake manifold that had blown out,, letting charged air go out,, doubt its your issue but something I seen

We have a 1370 that when we bought it ,it did the same thing = The Intake Gaskits Between the Manifold and Heads were blown Out, they were not Tight and Caused them to Blow out .it was down on power as you are saying ! fixed its a real power house like our 2390.

If the injectors have been removed it is possible to install them 180 degree off. Then the angle of the spray pattern is directed toward the head of the valves instead of the top of the piston. Check to see if the fuel leak off line is on the proper side of the injectors, compare to another tractor or picture in a book. A few years back we had purchased a 4694, it would blow a lot of smoke, had very little power and high exhaust temperature. Thankfully someone on this forum suggested to check the clock position of the injectors.

This has pencil injectors. Not sure how you could install them wrong.

if nothing else posted here was the problem,,, I would then go to having the injection pump tested maybe a internal issue?? or even cam timing being incorrect? I think you already said you checked the turbo,,,,,
