1740 Uni Loader Needs Help

Forgive me for the re-post. I need to get this back to work.
I have a Case 1740 Uni-Loader. It's been a great machine.
Recently I have been noticing some excessive vibration in the drive line, I needed to finish a small project so I have been keeping the RPM's low to prevent the vibration. Wasn't sure if it was coming from the Adapter Assembly drive plate ( p# D64523 $1,300 ouch ) or the rear end yoke that hooks up to the gear box. The variable drive speed control had been leaking also so thought it would be a great time to get familiar with this repair. I already had purchased the kit for the vari-drive. Got all the parts off and the adapter plate is loose in every way possible and the bearing end of the front end yoke is a little beat up. The other end yoke looks a little worn but seems serviceable.
So now to my question.
I can have a solid adapter plate made for about $650 including a new front end yoke. Has any one tried this and what problems would going rigid create? I notice that the 1737 has a solid front yoke. I wonder if that can be adapted to this application?
Or just buy the stock parts and keep it Original. Bearing, Front Yoke, and Adapter plate all for about $1,700
Any input would be appreciated

Got a older Case Uni-loader. What you are calling the adapter plate is the plate off the flywheel??? Pics would be nice. I've had mine for 40 years...don't know
how you could tear that plate up.

Yea, it is the flex plate the bolts to the flywheel. It had a rough life before I got it a few years ago. I think it is a great machine and want to do it right. I plan on keeping this for a long time.
So you have had one for 40 years. Any thing I should look out for or pay extra attention to?

Yes keep the variable pulley greased,, use the variable not the drive clutches to control speed, and keep the 90 degree gear box full,, as for the drive plate I would think one cut from steel should work just do not make it so heavy it gets things out of balance, also Always slow the variable to slow when shutting off the 1740 models due to the dsl engine,, if you start them in high it cause a harmonic that can break things,, we sold many many 1740's in the day that is my all time Favorite Uni-Loader hands down,, better to me than anything made today as far as balance and operating,, if it was mine and I could get the parts new I would do it
cnt

Yea, I've had 2 things bothering me about re-engineering this.
1st - The guys that designed this were probably smarter than me and must have had a reason to put some flexibility into the drive-train.
2nd - My wife's been telling me to quit being cheep and get the parts. And she's usually right.
I guess $1,700 isn't bad when you look at the big picture. After this repair I will only have about $5,000 into it. Thank you for your advice also. I'll post some pictures of the repair.

Tried to order all the parts today and there was an inventory glitch. Messicks online allowed me to put the part in the cart and then we found out it was no longer available. No malice on them just a computer glitch. Checked Colman's and the local Case shop N/S Tractor. Any idea where I can get a Front Yoke part # D54869 ? All the other Parts are on their way.
