Where the 401 diesel and 411 gas row crop good tractors? Are parts ( engine ) hard to get ? Which tractor is more desirable for collectors. I collect red but I think the 400 series is a sharpe looking tractor. Are they hard to come by. Looking at tractor data I see that there were only a little over 5,000 of each series built.

Depends on who you ask. I have 1955 Diesel and a 1957 Supper Diesel. I completely overhauled the 55 from one end to the other and it's has been very reliable. The 57 has a loader and has been pretty dependable even though it has a ton of hours on it. They have live PTO and hydraulics which is nice for a tractor that age. The biggest downfall is that the 3 point is not a true category 1 hitch. It is close and most implements can be modified to work. Engine parts are available.

I have IH and Case tractors. From what I have read they are good tractors. I think the coolest looking 400 model is the propane with wide front.

I have a 411 and a 401. Both have been very dependable for me. I've been able to find anything I've ever needed. They are a very stylish tractor, pretty in the two tone. In my opinion. gobble

Here's a photo of one, but it's a high crop.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The 400's were the next generation of tractors to follow the Flambeau series tractors. More horse power was required as farmers expanded their operations . As far as collectability, we see, we like, we collect! The 411 was my first choice, and I have not looked back. Parts are easy to come by. We have several folks here on the forum that can help you with the parts you need. Feel free to join us at anytime and field your inquiries. Chuck

Here is my "411".
My Dad had this tractor up at his lake cabin for years, after he passed away I got it.
Use it all the time at my farm, love it
And yes I have the Eagle emblem. Took it off so it wouldn't get broken

Dad and I made frame rails for our 400 loader tractors. Course we did it after Dad broke the block on his picking up bales. I bought my uncles 400 cheap because he broke the block picking rock. I put a engine in it from a 1000 Case combine. I see yours has custom frame rails too.

Since I have two 400 Super?s, & I am limited on storage space. I will sell this 1957 Case 400 Super Diesel. My email address is open if you are interested. It was totally restored from front to rear, painted with urethane and has perfect sheet metal & fenders. It has new Firestone 16.4x38 rear & 650x16 front. I have over $12,000 invested restoring it. I can also arrange for very reasonable hauling by a friend who will be leaving CA in early Jan. 2017 returning to Michigan with an empty gooseneck. (about $1,500 total) A detailed spread sheet & pictures are available outlining all the parts & work performed during the restoration. Make me an offer ? Jim

Jim man that would look good here. need your email or phone number. My phone # 605-730-6353 call me.

how do you send a email here?

Yes, when we installed the loader for him, he (Dad) had these side plates made. When the loader doesn't have side rails, there isn't enough support for the loader
