tachometer part # check please

The needle on my 870 tach broke. The hour meter still works but the tach needle broke. This is a 870 GAS. I found a used tach off of a 1370. Is it the same part # tach. I have been told that a gas tach cable turns counter clock wise off the distributer & a diesel drives or turns the cable clock wise. Can someone check part #s for me. Thanks a bunch in advance.

I just went to the cih parts on-line, both the dsl and the gas 870 used the same tach, a 1370 tach will work but the pto speed indicator will be at a different rpm

I have fixed those needles w/ superglue. Carefully pry the rim off, after removing the tach, & simply glue the needle back together. Re-install the rim.

Nutty I never thought about that. A 1370 is 1000 not 540 pto isn't it
