have always wanted to rebuild a rps 34. what case models with rps 34 had parking gear & diff lock ? how hard is it to make special tool as shown in manual to mount & remove unit ? how does one adjust tranny if no color coded test monitor to adjust pressures ? as a rough estimate, with a rebuildable average core condition what is range in parts alone to rebuild one and are most parts still avail ? thanks
 
Park lock and dif. lock startwed with the 90 series. If you do not need to get into gears and serious hardware most can be rebuilt for under $500 in seals and a few clutch disks. It is the labor that runs the dollars up when it goes to a hired shop.
 
First everything dcase said,then forget everything you know about manual transmissions,and most about automatics,that said there is no individual press.adjustments,the later serial#2090 is my preference for simplicity,if you decide to tackle it we can talk you through it,do not take the cab off,and you don't need any special tools(just done a puma 210 that trans came in a box verrrrrry challenging)
