What year did the 930 CK come out? I know the 930 was built from 1960 till 69 wasent sure if the CK was offered from the start Thanks

The 930 Comfort King was built in 1964 by installing the 6 cylinder Case engine into an 830 chassis. Happy Thanksgiving.

The first 1963 930 Comfort Kings had a 6spd chaindrive tranny. Same as in the 900 and 930 long nose tractors. Had nothing to do with an 830 tractor.

Actually the very first 930 CK's came out in late 1962. You can tell them by the straight gear shift lever. In 1963 they changed the lever to be curved so it would be easier to get your legs by it when getting on or off. Bob

Loren, I thought that all the Comfort Kings had 3 point hitch. I got the info about the engine being hooked to the 830 transmission from a book entitled "JI Case Agricultural & Construction Equipment 1956-1994" on page 25 "Model 930 General Purpose Tractor". Is the general purpose different than the Comfort King?

The first 930CKs were western specials only, or standards as some call them. No 3pt available, and pto and remote hydraulics optional along with power steering. They had 6spd trannies and most had hand clutchs. In 65 the Eagle Hitch was discontinued on the 730 and 830 and they also took on the CK design with a newly designed Draft-O-Matic 3pt the raised platform, flat top fenders and still using the dual range8spd bull gear tranny, with either dry clutch or COM drive. The 930 series then went to the 8spd bull gear tranny and was available as a western or General Purpose (row crop) tractor. Pto, and DOM 3pt were optional along with a choice of front axles. The last two didgits in the model then denoted the configuration. A 932 was a western. A 931 was a General purpose either dual front or wide front. A 941 would have been a Gas or LP general purpose tractor.
A bit comfusing, especially if you throw in the first 930 long nose tractors into the mix.

Pics are of my 1964 6spd 930CK, and my 1969 931CK-GP

Thanks for taking the time to explain that to me. I've been interested in Case for some time now, but don't have anyone close by that really knows Case. I have a 530 DOM and several case implements. I hope you don't mind if I call on sometimes with questions. From all the pictures that you post on here (keep 'em coming), looks like you've got a lot of experience with Case.

Our family became Case Dealers in 1932. 3 generations. My wife and I were forced to close in 1986 when the dairy industry colapsed and the new Case-IH regime said we needed to make major capital improvements to our facilities. It just didn't pencle out with interest rates higher than our net profit margin. (Case floorplan rate was 22% anual) at the time, and bank rates in the teens.
