Farming Done, Back To Wrenching

Normally I have to rush back to the shop and get busy on customer work. This year will be different as I am going to get some repairs done on our own equipment first. The 450 needed leaks and some general servicing. Several of the tractors will make their way through the shop also for servicing. The 2470 will get repaired later this winter as I hope to make it field worthy for some work next fall. Tom this pic shows the lay down muffler and the anti-roll back valve up on the RH loader arm of the 450. Have a Good Thanks Giving Everyone! Rod.

No offense my friend, but I certainly would not be working under that bucket without some sort of prop. Maybe cut a chunk of 2" pipe in half and set it on the lift rod, or a 4x4 upright under the bucket? anything!!

YES, PLEASE do something to hold that up. Lost a good friend to a bucket coming down on him. Left a wife and 2 young kids.

Geeze, the 450 of that vintage that I have been around had that muffler and a straight pipe through the hood. I think the manifold that Rod has on his 430 would work with that muffler if it was on a 450 dozer with the higher hood also.

I would not work under it will out being held up either. If you look closely you can see the piece of black pipe which is securely wedged against the front grill cover
and up to the loader frame. I removed hyd pressure to test it first also, it held fine. Thanks for our concern, Rod.

I sweep a lot, lol. The old carpet gets put down where I kneel and crawl on the floor. When they get oily and greasy I disgard them and cut out some new pieces. Rod.

Glad to see you noticed that Loren. Us aging mechanics have enough pains, I do all I can to avoid only more or worse. Rod.

great pics. interesting to see what you are working on & how you go about it. i always wanted to rebuild a rps 34. some day but too many projects now

Hi Rod,
Glad to read your doing good. I just have to rib you a little bit about a "glitch" in your picture. I was wonderring if there is a "stain" on your shop wall when you look through the ROPS on your crawler? Just had to ask.... Happy thnaksgiving to you and all your family sir.

Going to be a handy one on the farm Rod when you get her "your way"

Yes, I have been getting some work done on a few of mine this year, and will make it easier or me next year.
