870 gas 8spd???

I found a 870 gas 8spd coming up for sale soon. I keep hearing how these 870 diesels just sipped fuel. I would guess the gas was not that way or am I wrong. Were most of these PS or were there many 8spd built. It is a open station, 5xxx hours on a working tach, all new rubber. Everything else on the sale is advertised as clean low houred and pics show it to be real clean line of equipment & always shedded. Give me a general idea of what it is worth. Thanks Gerald

Several years ago I shelled corn for a man who had a 8 speed 870. I thought it was the nicest driving tractor I have driven, Was a diesel with open station. I would be willing to pay between $3500 and $4000 for a clean one.

3-4 years ago my son bought a gas 8spd 870 with near new rubber open station for $2500. Excellent tractor. Not too bad on gas either.

Diesel around 2+ hour [Gear ] /Gas 5 Hour Working [Power Shift/We have 1 Of Each /& another Diesel With Turbo needing Engine overhaul[Got this way ]8 speed ]& 2 other Diesel's P S Trans bought as part's /fix ???We like the Diesel Handy Tractor /The Gas P S Takes a little getting used to .
