1370 WITH NOISEY DIFF.

I own a 1370 that I recently removed and over-hauled the engine, about 300 hours ago. It runs and shifts great and pulls anything I own easily. Then the diff started acting strange and making noises so I parked it. Now I'm trying to decide what to do with it, I want to take it apart and see whats all messed up and at this point I have to think about the P/S and the rest of the drive-line. I'm mainly concerned with finding parts and I was wondering If there are any modifications to make the diff last, I've seen something about larger bolts in the P/S and it would be nice to find some factory repair manuals. Any thoughts?

If the trans and rearend are making a noise you did a good thing by parking it. I have seen several trans housings damaged because the operators did not stop using their
tractors when noises began. As far as making the diff last I truly believe proper operation of the tractor is the key to making them live the longest. Good used parts are
normally not a problem to find for those tractors and as far as the larger bolts for the PS I would not be to concern until you find out what all needs replacing in the
rest of the tractor. The smaller 3/8 bolts last for 2500-3000 hrs and much longer with careful tractor operation. Most of these units will never see that much use
anymore. Rod.
