Quandry For My Mechanic Friends!!

This is beyond me. The hydraulic seat on our 2096 hasn't worked in at least 5 years. This Fall, while plowing, I vowed to fix it this Winter. Now, it appears I don't have to. Thus the mystery. Yesterday it automatically fixed itself. When the tractor was running, and no weight in the seat, the seat would come all the way up, and the lever is in maximum height position. However, as soon as I sat in the seat, down it would go, to the bottom. I am not overweight. Been 5 years like that. Yesterday, while plowing, all of a sudden the seat shot up, and then, reacted normally with the selector. Any idea what happened in there?

The 3394 up on the farm has a problem with the seat suspension on ocasions. There is a small pilot valve hiden up on the tranny behind the cab steps that needs a wrape with a hammer or cresent and it works again.

Loren, am I to understand that this isn't possibly dirt in valve, or stuck valve issue, but rather a valve that has gotten lazy over time, and doesn't feel like working anymore, and the best remedy is to smack it and show it who's boss. LOL !!!
Sounds like something my wife would do to me.!
