(quoted from post at 09:23:02 11/15/16) what rating for a disk? 10 foot and what about a plow? 5 bottom? Hand clutch?

Yes all hand clutch. We've pulled 10ft disk no problem with 500's. Plow will depend on depth and soil type. In heavy soils I would say better off with a 4 bottom. They were rated as a 5 bottom plow tractor though new.

Be sure to keep your PSB injection pump lubed up good if you plan to run modern diesel with it.

(quoted from post at 11:06:06 11/15/16) WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO LUBE THE PSB INJECTION PUMP THE CORRECT WAY WITH NEW FUELS OF TODAY.

I'm sure everyone has their favorite snake oil. I usually just throw in some Power-Service brand additive to the fuel when the tank gets topped off. Adds some lubricity to the "dry" ULSD.

The big 500 might be my favorite Case tractor. They start well, run smooth as silk, and lug down with lots of torque. Not the best tractor for short turns or quick maneuvers. The standard rear tires are too small for the horsepower. Ideally, it would have 34" rear rubber and that was an option, which is much better for traction. It is getting hard to find repair parts for the rotary injection pump. Don

I have a pair of them one running. I think they are a very easy handling and maneuverable tractor. The direct start engine is convenient too. It should be able to almost handle two 10ft disks. Only downfalls was the high PTO placement, only 4 gears, and the ops platform with the low steel pan seat stradling the rear end. That's why I perfer to operate mine standing up with the seat swung out of the way. Case took care of all these issues in later series. In all they were good classic tractors.
