I sure could some rewiring my Case 310 round nose ignition switch. Could not find an exact replacement 3 terminal switch but found a 4
terminal universal switch which is marked bat, st, ign, the extra pole is marked acc. On the 300 the wiring goes from {Red} the battery
terminal on the solenoid to the amp + {charge side} The {green} wire goes from the small terminal on the 3 post solenoid to the st terminal
on the new switch. the {Black} wire goes from the coil{ - }post to the ign on the new switch. from the 2nd large stud on the solenoid a cable
runs to the starter. And under the dash the bat terminal from the regulator runs to the [-} of the amp meter as well as a lead for light power
and to the bat terminal on the new switch. when i started the tractor the stater drive stayed engaged and i couldn't turn the tractor off. had
to disconnect battery to shut it down. so do i have something wired wrong or is the switch faulty? Any help would be appreciated. tried to
find a color coded wiring diagram but could not.

Not sure I totally picture your description. But I wonder if you have the start wire and the ign wire in the solenoid reversed? Hopefully someone more familiar with a 300 will reply.

I have seen starter solenoids weld themself together and keep the starter engaged, But if this happens the engine should still die if the key is shut off, leaving only the starter to turn the engine over. The way you described the wiring it should work so I would check the new switch. The ST. or start terminal should only have power when the key is in the start position and should lose power when the key is released. The IGN. terminal should have power as soon as the key is turned on and should remain powered during starting. The BATT. terminal should be power to the switch from the + side of the battery. The ACC. terminal should have power when the key is in the on position but should lose power when starting and regain power when the key is released. I know this is about as clear as mud but I hope it helps. Dennis
