A fella here has the running gear and power shaft and gearbox from a 914 IHC pto machine. I'm tempted to buy it and mount a 1660 combine on it. Don't think it would be too bad a project as the Case combine has a frame under all the combine components. All it takes is time and money.....
 
That would be an interesting project for sure. Wouldn't take anything to pull the engine, cab and rear axle. So long as the power input can be made to turn the machine the same speed as the Chrysler, I don't see why it couldn't be done. I presume this would need to be driven by a 1000 pto shaft? The prototype pics I have all show 5 belt pickups instead of 4 for those big windrows. How wide a head would that take? Don't know if there's room without making an offset header. May have to extend the unload auger to reach a truck also but that would be alright considering it would also give you more height for today's trucks and grain carts. This is fun to think about.
