F150 suggestions

Last March I traded my 2001 excursion with 7.3 for a new 2016 F150 with 2.7 ecoboost as I would not be towing my tractor anymore, only a 20 ft toyhauler trailer that weighs about 6000 lbs with it loaded. Well in August my wife and I decided to take a 3200 mile trip pulling the toy hauler, we stopped for gas at one location and the truck stalled, restated it and it stalled again, this happened about 12 time going to our destination so stopped at a Ford dealer and was told they couldn't do any thing for us since the check engine light was not on. We headed back home and again it stalled about 15 times, so when we got home we took it to our dealer. We were called to pick it up 4 time and they said they couldn't find the problem. It stalled again and took it back again they couldn't find the problem. Finally after contacting customer relations they put a flight recorder on it and sent me out to duplicate the problem, after 250 miles of towing the toyhauler it stalled again 4 times. I dropped it off 3 days ago with no answer. What would you do? One way or another I feel it will need to be replaced. Thanks in advance
 
If you put that many miles on since, probably not bad gas which would of been my first guess. Seems to happen every now and then while on the road get a tank of gas contaminated with water.

Sounds more like an issue with ECM at this point. I wouldn't give up on the truck just yet, possibly the people trying to fix it though. Not a lot of complaints about reliability with those engines, so more likely you ran into something that isn't overly easy to diagnose and just needs the right set of eyes on it to figure it out. If they get it fixed may be the only issue you ever have with the truck.

I guess my point is, resolving these things is only as good as the diagnostician working on it. A good diagnostician is getting hard to come by these days.
 
I have a 2011 3.5L F150 eco boost. First year they made it. When the engine is working right, it is phenomenal. Soon after I got it I was towing a 300 round nose on I64, east out of Beckley. Coming out of the New River Gorge, (5 to 6 miles of 7+% grade) I dropped below 70 once, to negotiate a curve. But what I have found is that the engine is so complicated, Ford's mechanics have a difficult time figuring out what is wrong with it. I have had severe bouts of misfires and lost power on mine, each requiring several trips to the dealer. They finally decided plug and coil packs needed replacement at 50K miles, not the 100K miles I was told at purchase. You also have a complicated first year engine, which is supposedly an improvement, but obviously has some gremlins Ford still needs to figure out.
 
Need more info? Does it stall when going down the road of when you come to a stop? If they can't find anything wrong with it I'm guessing they are saying there's no fault codes. If there is no codes that makes me think it's some type of mechanical failure and not electrical. I've seen cars over the years stall at a stop or even chug and stall because of a torque converter failure. What happens is the converter stays locked up and when you say your towing and it takes 250 miles I bet the converter gets hot and is not functioning correctly. Just a wild guess with provided info
 
My uncle always said that the squeaky wheel always gets the grease first. So before you get too many miles on it do alot of complaining. You should not have to deal with that on a new vehicle. Good luck.
 
I did transmission work years ago and you maybe correct, that the torque converter is staying locked up, because it only happens at a stop when it has been pulling hard. It don't matter if the gas tank is near full or empty.

Would help explain the lack of engine codes as well. There isn't an engine problem per say.
 
This would really p__s me off.

What I would do is tell them either fix it or your going home, and calling the company, and continue up the ladder tell you find someone that wants to help. This is sad, as others have said this is a new vehicle. Don't put up with this.
