i will check again but last time they were going to put field tile in with it that was 20 years ago.try to stop by and see if they will let me take pictures

Wow! So it was a Case trencher, too. I looked at those pics for a while, and had decided there was a small conveyor attached to shoot the dirt to the side. Looks like I was correct. Cool pic, CNT.

I wonder what they did for a drive gear? 1st gear on my VAI is quite a bit faster than on my VACs and if you're only doing 100 foot an hour you'd need a creeper gear.

they had various gearing arrangments for the industrials available, and it may have been some thing made just for the trencher attachment to, we sold a 580 Road Runner trencher in the early "70" that had a creeper attachment that I never seen on any regular 580, but again I have no books proving my theory LOL cnt

I have a VA series that I bought a few years ago. (Tag missing so year unknown) It came with a loader that looks just like the one in the picture. It also came with 16.9x24 tires (wheels had been widened). It was also had a front mounted hyd pump and power steering. The owner said that it had used as ditching machine. That unit was missing. To answer the question of speed, and the reason I bought it. The torque tube had been replaced and its place was a 3 speed. 1 gear for normal speeds and 2 very low gears. Half throttle, 1st gear, lowest gear of the 3, and 10 minutes later maybe 10 to 15 feet. There is no name on the 3 speed so manufacture is unknown.
My thanks to CN 1660 for the picture. I have wondered what the setup would have looked like.
