Has anyone ever tried this yet?

I recently have had power issues with my 930
and I have decided to rebuild my 401.
But now I've been thinking about boring the
block out for 504 sleeves.
Finding flat top pistons would be the
biggest hurdle but about Moline 504 pistons?
Has anyone tried this combo yet?
I would be great if the compression height
and the wrist pin were the same as Case.

Did that years ago with a 830,dont remember if compression height was rite though, bigger issue was making head gaskets fit, with the bigger bore you can use 1030 heads as they have some more air flow, best bet is to put in a 451 from a 1070 or 504 from 2090

Not sure about the pistons, but custom pistons are not as bad as you might think. You will need to remove part of the water pump housing inside the block to get the front sleeve in. On my puller it did not hurt anything, but I'm not sure how that would affect a working tractor.

I have seen 451 diesel engines out of a 1030 in a 930. I had a chance to buy one one time, sort of wish i had done it
