Front Mount Cultivator

I found a front mount 8 row 36" cultivator (currently on a 970). (not mine) It is in SE Iowa. The owner wants $2000. If interested let me know. I told him that the last one I bought (a JD) went for $400 and it hurt his feelings. If you need one, maybe you can talk him down a bit. As for me, not so much....

Very few 70 series tractors made with the cultivator brackets in the nose piece and the factory holes in the hood. Not that it makes the cultivator worth more or less. Just an observation.

It really is a nice set up. Sadly, at the current market prices and the number of farmers using 8-36, his hopes of getting the $2K is low. I can think of only one other farmer in this area that still cultivates and uses 8-36..... (I bought his Case 900 Planter)

Is there any reason that it could not be narrowed up and the frame cut down to 8 x30"? It would certainly make it more saleabe.

Wow! I have seen the prices of rear mounts go up this last year (a lot) but didn't realize that their was still a market for the front mounts.... I have always preferred to cultivate with a front mount on the hills and terraces....

That I do not know. I DO know it is not an MM... The only for-sure Case cultivator I have seen is a rear-mount, that I haven't used in 40 years or so..... My Case equipment (and knowledge) is quite limited...

Case only ever built one really good cultivator. It was the rear mount with a single gang per row built in the late 60's before they went to the Glenco models. I would just as soon have an IH cultivator than a jd.

I understand I just wanted it known what it really was CASE did not make a 8 row front mount,, a friend checked on it and got a pic, its a IH unit,, which is all and good
