SC Fuel Line Replacement

I've removed the fuel line on my SC only to find that 5/16 copper tubing seems to be uncommon. Would 1/4 be sufficient? I also noticed that the line that came off of it appears much thicker than what I see at Lowes.

I do not like copper for fuel lines it tends to vibrate and then it gets hair line cracks in it that leak. I use brake lines for fuel lines. Easy to bend and you can get them in many different sizes

I agree with those on steel brake line. The stuff they make now has some green coating on it which needs to be removed to use compression fittings or nuts. I use the wire wheel on my grinder.

I use nickel brake line from the local
parts store, it's easier to bend than
steel brake line and it gives you the
copper look.

Steel it is. I had in mind that steel had to be used with flared ends. But 5/16 line is 5/16 line. It's done and running. Thanks for the input.

I use the flare at the carb end and a compression fitting at the sediment bowl for ease though it can be double flared very easily which is probably the best way.
