Case VA Single Acting Hydraulic Valve

I am getting ready to convert my VAC with an Eagle Hitch to a VAI front end. I am considering using the single action hydraulic control valve pictured below to control the Eagle Hitch, since the original Eagle Hitch valve is leaking badly. Is there any reason that this valve can't be plumbed to the cylinder on the Eagle Hitch? Would the hydraulic hose connect to the fitting that is plugged off on the left hand side of the picture? Thanks for any advice.

Yes you can use it to operate the Eagle hitch piston. The plugged fitting will be to/from the piston. I have a manual that covers SA control and shows the internals. I can post the pics if you want.

I have been on YT about 16 years and of the dozens of posts re leaking control valve the majority of the leaks were from the piston seal that leaked into the rockshaft housing and out on the control block side. If you haven't tested for piston seal leak, highly recommend it before you give up on the control block.

The link is to a post that actually is a control block leak but the procedure for testing for piston seal leak is in the thread.
