Chopping Corn And it Stopped moving =Axal is out 3-4 inches =all over a Dumb Bolt they have holding it together ? MORE J I JUNK / The tractor has around 6700 hours

Geeze, I guess all the Case junk migrates to your place.
I guess you will have to push the diff lock to get moveing, and drive the tractor across a sidehill, with that wheel down, and maybe the axle will slide back into place. They did that on "Fixing Alaska" TV show,HeHe

Sounds like you shouod sell that junker, or scrap it to save some other poor schmo from havin to deal with it, and buy a good tractor. I hear john deere still sells tractors.

It is a rather large bolt secured in place by a retainer that keeps the axle tight. Once in the great while a retainer will break leaving the bolt to slowly back out which will let the axle loosen. The retaining system is used by others in the industry, even those with green paint. The axle must have been moving out slowly going unnoticed, very odd if that large bolt would have broke. Rod.

It has all ways' Been well cared for Good oils Regular Changes & filters /Dad Bought it NEW,Was the last new tractor he ever bought & had to last.

Right now it is out about 3 inch's /you have worked on a lot of this style Case Rear ends ,Your insight is most likley what happened. We just did out Haylage last week.We have never had any rear end work done before, Other than when CASE did There Updates When it was New.Thank Your for the Insight on this problem.

Whew! I bought a brand new 1070 in the fall of '74 and after a half year of use a nut on a transmission shaft cracked and fell off, allowing too much end play. The result was a few junked gears and a transmission and rear end full of filings. later the damage from the filings took the hydraulic brake valve out. I was raised on Deeres and pretty much bled green at that time but I guess I never thought of Calling the Case a piece of junk. Stuff happens. By the way, the folks at the dealership, Mather Implement in Laurens Iowa were the nicest people I have ever dealt with.
