730 DR vs 830CK

I have a llss Case with a 830 CK rearend. Looking to loose weight off the rear. How much lighter is a 730 DR rear housing compared to the 830? What needs to be done to use my gears and ring and pion and axles I have. I know the bearing holes need to be bored for the bigger shafts. And the revearse is differant, but whats differant? the spacing? Any help would be great.

Can't tell you how many pounds lighter but the eagle hitch rear ends are quite a bit lighter. You will want to use the ck rear axles and one piece bull gears. The ck bull gears can be lightened if you want but must be used with ck axles. You can replace the 830 low range gears with the high range gears out of a 930. This will give you 4 gears about 20% slower than the regular 5th,6th,7th and 8th gears. Only a 930 has 35/29 hr gears. The 7,8 and 1030 have 38/27 tooth hr gears. I am installing the 930 gears into a 700 trans. It does require a little machine work to the gears and shims must be used to keep them in line. Many of the Case pullers I have seen are using the eh rear end with success.

I have custom hi and low range gears, custom 3rd gears and axles made to work with the ck bull gears. Is the shaft spacing different for the revearse shaft from the 730 DR to the CK trans? Want to use all my gears and shafts out of the 830 rearend.
