Case 900 questions

My brother bought a 900B at local consignment auction. Runs real nice. It looks like two plugs under the seat, with some faded lettering. Assuming one is for rear end and one for hydraulic? Where do you check levels? Does the rear end use 8090 or something heavier? Noticed rear housings are in the forward position, how do you tell how much slack is in the drive chains? Tractor has no pto, but does have hydraulics and belt pulley. Two gauges off to the side of the main cluster, were these both fuel pressure? Thanks for any information.

Should be some 1/8 pipe plugs on side of the housing, one is buy the hydraulic filter. 80/90 most common. Hydraulic a good oil or even ATF fluid.Transmission large plug smaller hydraulic. Not sure on chain adjustment.

Here's a reply I made a while back to a similar inquiry, with some pictures from the owner's manual. The 900 should be set up the same as my early 930:

You'll probably have to copy and paste to get to it.

Thanks, but where do you access to see the slack in the chain? I did find a manual on ebay, should be here end of next week.

Thanks, I wasnt able to find the post where you had the picutres, but it linked me to another post of yours, which also tried to link to the pictures, but I was not able to find them. I found a manual on ebay
so that should be here end of next week. Thanks.

you have to pull the PTO unit off to adjust the chains, you can see the tension then as well, this is Not a simple job to adjust them

one gauge should be fuel pressure and the other is vacuum which indicated restricted fuel filters which makes me wonder if it is a 58 model, 58 has the radiator cap below the hood with a trap door (which is usually missing) and a PSB American Bosch rotary pump, 59 has an inline Robert Bosch pump and the cap is above the hood

Yes, it still has a door above the lowered radiator cap and rotary pump. Both guages are still there but are all blacked out. One gauge line is disconnected, but the other goes up to the fuel filters. I grew up on a 900 when i was a kid, but it got parted out 30 years ago. Dad had switched that one over to the inline pump when he still farmed with it. Thanks for the information.

I'll repost the pictures:
