Evening all,

Just rebuilt the lower end on a VAO and the top end was done before I bought it so the motor is solid, just getting it fine tuned now. we tow started it today and got it to fire. I have some
minor timing adjustments to make but want to get the carb set before i mess around so i know my next plan of attack. Can anyone tell me how many turns the main jet and the idle jet
should be set at?

Assuming you have a Marvel-Schebler TSX carb. Power needle has virtually no affect at idle rpm, screw the power needle in to the seat and back off a turn or more. You'll be setting it after idle adjustment and a full warm up. Turn the idle screw in to the seat and back off 1/2 turn. Your carb is most likely air adjust so turning the idle screw in CW richens the combustion mixture. Most of them end up within one turn out from the seat, occasionally all the way in seated if carb not up to snuff.
