Tire change

I need to replace a tire on front of my DC. Anyone tried to do this without removing wheel from tractor ? ? If I can break the bead, shouldn't be a problem...?

Assuming you are referring to the heavy cast iron wheels, yes, that is the preferred method. If you have a narrow front, (be sure other tire is fully inflated) drive up on a 4x4 block and go at it.

I guess I don't have any real tricks. We've had DCs since 1951 and just break them down with basic tire tools & a hammer working around the tire.

when I had my DC I never took the front wheels off to change tires. Like others have said make sure the other tire is aired up. Let the air out of the one you want to change. Sometimes if the bead doesnt come loose you can smack it with a hammer and it will pop off.

If you keep the valve stem on the top you need to put the tire back on from the bottom up??? That would be hard work!! I put them on with the valve stem on the bottom, and use the weight of the tire to help prying the bead on from the top down. You always need to end up at the stem.
