1175 oil level sight glasses

Question??Do the 2 sight glasses screw out and what can I replace them with so I can see the oil level better.Also will it hurt to overfill the hdy oil level?Thanks,Dave A
 
yes they screw out,, they can be cleaned if they are the original glass ones so they are easy to see, and no it does not hurt to over fill them 2-5 gallon

tom ,, I need to clean mine on my 1070 ,. and to be honest I am afraid to put a wrench on mine , , I think a socket mite be best , when I get the the gumption to change fluids. but I don't want to break them ,, in all honesty if they did break a pipe plug would work after all the glass was busted out,.. sure don't like the price of case hy -tran ,,. been looking at rural king and tsc price of equivillant tranny fluid, around 40 bux for 5 gallon ,.. I use that oil in 750 mf combine that is a hydro ,. worx great , and I am tempted to use same in 1070,.. you wont hurt my feelings if you admonish me and tell me that the hi cost of the perfect fluid is a lot cheaper than rebuilding the power shift on my 1070 ,.,. btw ,, the p-o must a rebuilt the 1070 tranny , it worx perfectly,, the tach has over 8k hours and is not working ,. cable issues,.the motor has a lot of blowby but is easy on the oil ,. I can chisel plow all day and add a qt the next day and do it again,. a qt a day hard working in the field is acceptable to the green 4020 boyz
 
I think you know how I feel on my tractors, Hy-Tran to me worth every penny,, it does have additives in it that to me are needed,,, its the old saying to me,, you can pay me know or pay me later thing,, you may well get by fine with the off-brand oil,, me its a no brainer,, I will stay with what I know works to me saving even the full cost of a oil change is nothing to the cost of rebuilding one but again I know others do it and get by,, just to me its not worth roiling the dice,, Your tractor Your call
